The Canyon View Foundation, which over 3 years has helped raise more than $100,000 for school programs like the ALEKS math program, docucams, and a new running track, is in desperate need of volunteers. With several parents moving on as their children graduate, Mike Marmion, Foundation President reports “We cannot continue to provide this level of support if we don’t get some new board members. It’s not a big commitment – we have some great systems in place, meet once a month, and everyone pitches in a bit to help with our main fundraisers.”
The Foundation will be accepting nominations for new board members from now through Feb 10. If you are interested, or you know someone who may be interested, please contact either Principal Vicki Bakki, Mike Marmion at 858-722-5012 or mike@mikemarmion.com, or come to the next Foundation meeting February 10th, 7:00 p.m. in the teacher’s lounge. Board member elections are March 10th. For your child's sake, please get involved!
This 3 minute video introduces the Canyon View Elementary School Foundation, PTA, and how these organizations are helping our school to maintain its high academic standards in spite of recent state budget cuts.
